Did you know that one of the most inspiring paper-cutting artists in French-speaking Switzerland began her career... at an ice rink? A mother of four boys passionate about ice hockey, Nathalie Gonthier spent long hours waiting for them during their practices. Armed with a small case, paper, and scissors, she began drawing and carving on the concession stands to stave off boredom.
Today, her sons are grown, but her passion remains undiminished. Now living in La Forclaz (VD), she creates exquisite paper lace that captivates with its poetry and incredible delicacy. She proves that art can be born anywhere, provided one has patience and imagination.
